Boosting MSME Performance in Q2 2025, Ministry Strengthens Cross-Sector Collaboration

Jakarta – The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) has reinforced its cross-sector collaboration in Q2 2025 to accelerate business growth and competitiveness among MSMEs. This initiative focuses on streamlining business licensing, certification, and access to financing so that MSMEs can thrive, expand productivity, and create more quality jobs.

Minister of MSMEs, Maman Abdurrahman, emphasized that this move reflects the government’s strong commitment to building an inclusive and progressive business environment. “The impact of stronger competitiveness is clear: faster economic circulation and more job opportunities,” Maman said in an official statement on Sunday (20/7).

Key Achievements in Q2 2025

The Ministry reported notable progress across several strategic areas:

  • Business Identification Number (NIB): 1.44 million NIBs issued, a 95% increase from Q1, reaching 83% of the annual target.

  • Halal Certification: 654,518 certificates issued, bringing the total since 2019 to over 2.3 million, covering 6.56 million products.

  • SNI Certification for MSMEs: More than 194,000 MSMEs certified in Q2, doubling Q1 achievements. In total, over 1 million MSMEs and 1.2 million products now meet national standards.

  • Product Distribution Permits (NIE): 24,837 permits issued in the first half of 2025, ensuring wider product market access.

  • Home Industry Food Production (PIRT): 104,860 new certificates issued, supporting food safety for over half a million products since 2021.

  • Trademark Registration: 7,692 new MSME trademarks registered, with over 154,000 in total since 1980.

  • Sole Proprietorship Companies: 36,574 new entities established in the first half of 2025, raising the total to 267,422 since 2020.

Financing MSMEs for Growth

On financing, the government disbursed Rp132.7 trillion in People’s Business Credit (KUR) by early July 2025, or 44% of the national target. The program has benefited 2.29 million MSMEs, including 1.05 million new borrowers. Credit distribution to productive sectors reached 60%, showing alignment with the government’s vision to strengthen value-added industries.

Collaboration Across Ministries

Minister Maman highlighted the importance of strong partnerships with other institutions, including the Ministry of Investment, Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Ministry of Health, BPOM, and BPJPH. These collaborations aim to streamline regulations, expand certification programs, and ensure MSMEs are fully supported in building competitiveness.

“This cross-sector synergy ensures that President Prabowo’s mandate for MSMEs under the Asta Cita vision can be delivered effectively, creating broad and sustainable economic impact,” Maman said.

With these achievements, the Ministry reaffirms its commitment to making MSMEs the backbone of Indonesia’s economy by promoting inclusivity, competitiveness, and innovation.
